Dupuy Mestreau Museum - 4 Rue Monconseil, 17100 Saintes

Created by Abel Mestreau to house his vast collections of regional art, the Dupuy Mestreau Museum sheds light on daily life in the Saintongeaises provinces until the beginning of the 20th century. Delicate collections of headdresses, furniture, earthenware, follow one another through the rooms like caskets of the remarkable Hôtel de Montconseil. We fell in love with the woodwork ceiling painted like a sky...

Echevinage Museum - 29 Rue Alsace-Lorraine, 17100 Saintes

Nestled in the heart of the main pedestrian street of the city center and with its 18th century facade, the Musée de l'Echevinage mainly houses a collection of painting, sculpture and ceramics, from the 15th to the 20th century. The entrance is via a lovely courtyard fitted out for La Musardière, perfect for a coffee break after the visit.
